Porcelain Veneers in Vietnam: Cost, Quality & What to Really Expect in 2026

    Judy·January 2026·10 min read

Veneers are the most requested procedure we guide patients through — and the one where the savings over doing it at home are most dramatic. Here's the complete, honest guide to getting porcelain veneers in Ho Chi Minh City.

    What Are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin ceramic shells — typically 0.3–0.7 mm thick — bonded to the front surface of your natural teeth. They improve colour, shape, size, and length to create a uniform, aesthetic smile.

Unlike crowns (which cover the entire tooth), veneers only cover the visible front surface. They require minimal tooth reduction and, when done well, are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.

What Do Porcelain Veneers Cost in Vietnam?

    Veneer TypeVietnam (HCMC)AustraliaCanada
    Standard Porcelain Veneer$350–$440/tooth$1,800–$2,500/tooth$1,500–$2,200/tooth
    E-max (Lithium Disilicate)$350–$450/tooth$2,200–$3,200/tooth$1,800–$2,800/tooth
    Zirconia Veneer$300–$400/tooth$2,000–$2,800/tooth$1,600–$2,400/tooth
    Composite Veneer$80–$150/tooth$400–$800/tooth$350–$700/tooth
    Full Smile (8 E-max Veneers)$2,800–$3,600$17,600–$25,600$14,400–$22,400

E-max vs. Zirconia vs. Composite: Which Is Right for You?

    • E-max (lithium disilicate): Our top recommendation for most patients. Exceptionally translucent — looks most like natural tooth enamel. Highly durable with a 15+ year lifespan. Best for front teeth where aesthetics are the priority.
    • Zirconia: The strongest option. Ideal if you grind your teeth or need posterior coverage. Slightly less translucent than E-max but nearly indistinguishable on camera or in photos.
    • Composite: Affordable and reversible, but not as durable or natural-looking as porcelain. Good for budget-conscious patients or those who want to trial veneers before committing.
    • Standard porcelain: Serviceable, but we generally recommend E-max — the price difference over a full smile is $800–$1,200, still a fraction of home prices.

The Process: What Happens at Each Appointment

    • Day 1 — Consultation & digital smile design: Your dentist photographs your teeth, takes digital impressions, and designs your final smile in software. You see the result before anything is touched.
    • Day 2–3 — Tooth preparation: A thin layer of enamel is removed from the front surface of each tooth. Temporary veneers are placed the same day — you leave with a full smile.
    • Day 4–6 — Lab fabrication: Your permanent veneers are milled at the in-house CAD/CAM lab. Typically 3–4 working days.
    • Day 7–8 — Try-in and bonding: Temporaries are removed, permanents tried in for shade and fit, then bonded with dental resin cement. Final polish and bite check.
    • Day 9–10 — Follow-up: Minor adjustments if needed. We attend every appointment.

How Many Teeth Should You Veneer?

The most common approach is a 'social six' (the six front upper teeth) or a full upper smile (8–10 teeth). Your dentist will advise based on your tooth shape, colour, and what shows when you smile.

One thing we always tell patients: veneer the teeth that show when you genuinely laugh — not just when you smile politely. Check photos of yourself laughing. That's the real guide.

We recommend not going beyond your natural smile arc. Veneering molars that never show is unnecessary cost.

    How Long Do Veneers Last?

    • Your dentist's skill: Proper tooth prep, accurate shade matching, and correct bonding technique determine long-term success more than any other factor.
    • The lab quality: In-house CAD/CAM milling produces more consistent results than sending work to unknown external labs.
    • Your habits: Night grinding (bruxism) shortens veneer lifespan significantly. We'll tell you honestly if you need a night guard.
    • Maintenance: Treat them like natural teeth — brush, floss, and avoid biting hard objects with your front teeth. E-max veneers placed at quality clinics last 10–20 years.

What Good Veneers Look Like — and What to Avoid

Good veneers are natural-looking. They match the surrounding teeth (or achieve a natural white — not an artificial, glaring brightness). They have subtle translucency at the edges and follow the contour of your gum line perfectly.

The 'piano key' look — perfectly uniform, bright white, slightly too large — is the result of rushed work or misaligned expectations. We show every patient real before-and-after photos and take time to discuss shade before any preparation begins.

What to avoid: clinics that show you a shade chart and say 'pick one' without digital simulation. Reputable clinics always do a digital wax-up before any tooth preparation.

Recovery: What to Expect After Your Veneers Are Placed

For the first 24–48 hours, avoid hard foods, very hot or cold drinks, and staining foods (coffee, red wine, turmeric). Your teeth may be sensitive for a few days — this is completely normal.

By Day 3, most patients are eating a nearly normal diet. By Day 5–7, when you're heading home, there are no restrictions. We give every patient a post-procedure care guide and remain available on WhatsApp if anything feels off after you return.

Veneers and Your Natural Teeth: The Commitment

Porcelain veneers require removing a small amount of enamel (typically 0.3–0.7 mm). Once enamel is removed, it doesn't grow back — which means you'll need veneers on those teeth for the rest of your life and will need to replace them every 15–20 years.

This isn't a reason not to get veneers. It's a reason to think carefully before you do. We always have this conversation openly with patients during consultation.

If you want to try the look first, composite veneers are a lower-commitment alternative. We can advise on which makes more sense for your specific situation.
